Dan Smart

Dan joined Export Finance Australia in 2021 as a Director, Project and Structured Finance based in Perth, WA. His primary focus is working with Australian exporters to help them grow export projects and expand overseas, with an emphasis on resources, infrastructure, and new energy. Dan also works to support the growing critical minerals sector, which is a key focus area for Export Finance Australia. Export Finance Australia administers the dedicated Critical Mineral Facility which has seen $1.49 billion in finance approved to date.

Before joining Export Finance Australia, Dan was a Director (Resources, Energy & Infrastructure) in the Institutional Banking team at ANZ Bank Limited for 7 years. Prior to that Dan was an Originator in the Resources Finance team in the Investment Banking Division at Rand Merchant Bank for 13 years.

Dan is a member of Chartered Accountants (Australia and New Zealand) and holds a Master of Commerce from the University of the Witwatersrand.
