Alvin D’Almaida

Alvin D’Almaida is Austrade’s Resources and Energy Investment Manager in the Critical Minerals Team based in Sydney. A geologist by profession, Alvin spent 15 years at Rio Tinto Diamonds and Rio Tinto Iron Ore in exploration, mining, operations and global business development roles. He then joined Wood MacKenzie as an iron ore analyst, supporting the banking, government, logistics and mining sectors with deep industry knowledge and expertise. Alvin then led resources strategy and investment functions as Principal Resources Advisor to the New Zealand Government under the John Key and Jacinda Ardern Governments, followed by Manager Resources Investment in the New South Wales Government. Alvin joined the Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade) in June 2022.
